1998

Beginning of the Alta Pusteria Festival: the First Edition includes 22 Italian choirs and takes place in five towns in Alta Val Pusteria, between Braies and Sesto.

2000

With the participation of 40 choirs, the Festival becomes an international event. In addition to the Italian choirs, more and more groups from almost all the European countries, as well as from America, Africa, Asia e Australia decide to join in. In the Hall Gustav Mahler in Dobbiaco start the first 'meeting-Days', which will then be extended to all of the valley's major concert halls.

2002

For the celebrations of the 'International Mountain Year' the 'Outdoor Concerts' are arranged: their success made them become a permanent event of the Festival.

2003

Eighty choirs take part in the Festival. The first 'Choir Parade' is arranged and from then on this continues to take place in the centre of the town of San Candido.

2004

The increasing number of participants - 100 choirs - requires more space for the event: the Festival extends its concerts towards the western side of the valley up to Bruneck.

2005

The desire to offer a wider range of locations allows to extend the event towards the eastern part of Val Pusteria, across the Austrian border by arranging concerts in the valleys of Sillian and Villgratten.

2006

The “Tyrolese Party” is inserted in the schedule of the Festival. The event is organised specially for all the participant choirs and traditionally takes place on Friday night in the central square of Villabassa.

2010

Establishing of The “Festa di Benvenuto”. That’s a spectacular outdoor concert taking place on the top of the Pan de Corones, the highest mountain in the valley (2275 m), on Thursday morning.

The events of the Festival currently take place in fifteen towns distributed along Val Pusteria, between Bruneck and Sillian and in the three lateral valleys of Anterselva, Braies and Casies.
