The meadows of Croda Rossa: a universe of colors

On the Croda Rossa di Sesto a journey into nature and history. The mountain offers a different landscape wherever you look, with incredible colors and scents at all times of the year. Reachable thanks to the cable car, the Croda Rossa walk takes place between meadows and ridges with breathtaking views suitable for people of all ages.
Croda Rossa is part of the three unmissable wonders in Val Pusteria, together with the FunBob of the Baranci Refuge and the Orperl route on Monte Elmo.
To get to Croda Rossa you can use the cable car that starts from Moso, or take path no. 18 that from the Montecroce Pass (about ten minutes by car from Moso) in an hour and a half walk leads to the destination by climbing 264 meters in altitude. The path is also feasible with a trekking stroller. An interesting solution is to go up in the morning with the cable car and then take the downhill walk towards Passo Montecroce on your return.
Excellent ski slopes, among the most famous in the area, in summer the place is full of tourists who come to admire the green meadows and discover the relties of the area, as the only reindeer farm in Italy where children can also give to feed the animals.
Also suitable for children is the playground near the cable car, made of wooden castles for climbing, a sandbox where you can create everything your imagination can do, swings and swings. For a not too difficult walk among the imposing spiers of the Dolomites, there is the circular path: easy enough to allow even the use of strollers, it takes us on one of the most fascinating excursions in the area.
For moments of relaxation there is the Croda Rossa meadow refuge, 200 meters from the gondola lift, with lots of green space to play or relax, and the Rudi refuge, the starting point for many of the most difficult excursions available, which offers a amusement park and a splendid terrace for sunbathing.
